Our Nepal plans run on the country’s established mobile operators, which is why coverage in Kathmandu, Pokhara ve Chitwan and around Kathmandu is the same 4G and 5G service a local subscriber gets. Signal follows the population, as it does everywhere: cities and main roads are well served, and remote areas depend on the operator your plan connects to. The exact network is shown on each plan before you buy.
There are 12 plans for Nepal on sale right now, in 500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 3 GB, 5 GB ve 10 GB sizes and valid for 1–30 days. Pick by trip length first and data second: a week of maps, messaging and the occasional upload is comfortable on a few gigabytes, while video calls home or tethering a laptop will move you up a tier. Every plan is prepaid, so there is nothing to cancel and no bill after you leave.
After checkout you get a QR code by email and in your account. Scan it from your phone’s mobile-data settings while you are still on Wi-Fi — installation needs a connection, which is exactly what you will not have on arrival. The profile then sits dormant on your phone until you reach Nepal and switch it on. Install before you fly; the plan itself starts when the network first registers you, not when you buy.
The local currency is NPR and the main languages are Nepali, so translation and payment apps are usually the first things travellers reach for — both are light on data. Keep your home number reachable for bank verification codes: the eSIM carries the data and your original SIM stays active for SMS on the same handset. Hotspot sharing works on the plans that list it, which covers a laptop or a travelling companion without a second purchase.
If Nepal is one stop on a longer route through South Asia, a regional plan usually costs less than buying a separate eSIM at each border, and it stays installed as you cross. If Nepal is the whole trip, a single-country plan is almost always the cheaper of the two.
